The following information is provided by the Great Basin Cache, National Interagency Fire Center, and “updates” information published in
the 2009 NWCG NFES Catalog Part 2: Publications. Questions regarding this update may be directed to Cindy Wolf 208-387-5119 or

Subject: Great Basin Cache (GBK) Inventory, Transition to ICBS-r and Subsequent Ordering Cut-Off Date
The annual cache inventory will be delayed this year due to seismic compliance remodeling of GBK's Main
Warehouse, which is expected to take up to 120 days once construction begins, and GBK's transition to ICBS-r, which will
occur once the remodel is completed. The annual cache inventory, which normally takes place during the first three weeks of
January, will coincide with the transition to the new cache business system as an implementation requirement. Because of
GBK's size and complexity of operations, the changeover to the new system is projected to add 2 - 4 weeks wherein the cache
will be unable to process other than emergency incident orders. Therefore, orders for items from GBK that need to be filled
prior to the end of April, 2010 should be sent to the cache Supply Office by close of business on the ordering cut-off date of
March 1, 2010. Orders received by this date will allow enough time to ensure processing and shipping prior to the annual
cache inventory and move to ICBS-r.
Please note this date on your calendars and spread the word to your training officers, course coordinators
and cooperators. We realize this has a large impact on the training community and want to spread the word now so you can
preplan your course supply orders. We hope to resume regular processing no later than the end of April, 2010. Since some of
you may have to order materials well in advance of the actual need, GBK will extend their unused publications return policy
from 30 to 75 days for orders received by March 1, 2010 to help alleviate the burden of precise planning.
