JERRY AND MARILYN O’DELL
Jerry O’Dell began his life in
the ministry at the age of 21, by
serving Dr. T.L. Osborn.
During his 17 years with that
ministry, he became a co-
evangelist and crusade director.
In 1980, Jerry began serving 6
years with Rhema Bible
Training Center as a professor
and World Outreach Director.
In 1986, the O’Dells headed
full-time into doing what they
do best: reaching the
unreached. While they have preached and taught extensively
throughout the world for the past 18 years, the O’Dells have
focused their ministry mainly on India and Honduras. They
spearhead the India Harvest Plan, which has won 13 million
Indian villagers to the Lord during the past 14 years and birthed
130 churches. The O’Dells also founded the full-time School for
Harvesters in Honduras and the International Fellowship of
Harvesters, which is dedicated to the networking and training of
ministers and laymen to reach more of the 3 billion alive on the
Earth today who have never heard the Gospel. Beside this, they
are involved in developing a harvest plan in the Moslem nation of
Pakistan. v
“We live in a constant global crisis. There are three
billion unreached people alive today. You can look
anywhere and find people who are lost.”
- Jerry O’Dell

THE O’DELL MINISTRIES MANIFESTO
O’Dell Ministries was founded upon two directives: 1) To
reach as many of the lost in our generation as possible, before
they die and 2) To train “harvesters” through precept and
example, who will keep reaching the lost in a priority position
of their lives and ministries. These harvesters will know how
to produce consistent miracles as proof that their story of the
risen Savior is true, by the power of the simple Gospel; and
they will focus on reaching the lost, in general and the
unreached, in particular. The need to fulfill these directives is
obvious, since 36 million people die annually who have never
had an opportunity to receive Christ as their Savior. By using
all the resources available to the Church today, pastors and
evangelists can work together to change these statistics.v
Romans 10:14-15:
“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not
believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have
not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And
how shall they preach unless they are sent?”

everyone has had a chance to hear it once?”
- Oswald J. Smith

The Heart of the Father is ...
This present generation can be likened to a Father who,
before leaving on a trip, said to his children, “Mow the
lawn before I return.” Upon his return, he saw that the
job had not been completed. Only a small part of the
yard had been cut. The children truly loved their father
and were very glad to see him. However, they were
dismayed when they realized he was disappointed in
their incomplete task – for they had kept themselves
very busy doing other chores around the house. The
father asked: “Why did you not complete the job of
mowing the grass, as I instructed?” One spoke up. “We
ran out of gas for the lawn mower, but used the money you
provided for the gas to buy paint.” Another exclaimed,
“Look father, how we painted the mail box! Isn’t it
beautiful! We also bought the beautiful new flowers you see
in the flower beds. Don’t they brighten up the yard?” The
father sternly replied, “But, I told you to mow the lawn!”
The children began weeping as they explained:
“Father, we worked so hard! We repaired the gate, we
cleaned the house and we even washed the windows.” The
father responded loudly, “But ... THE GRASS!” The
children anguished, “We thought you would be so proud of
us. We were so good. We kept curfew, went to church, and
were even faithful to study the Word and pray. From time
to time we were reminded of the task and if only you had
delayed your return! We were planning to finish the yard
tomorrow.”

The Heart of O’Dell
Jesus said before He ascended into Heaven: “You shall
receive power ... and you shall be my witnesses.”
His next
instructions commanded us to “GO INTO ALL THE
WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO EVERY
CREATURE!”
Jesus came into the world to save
sinners. It is clear then, that THE PRIMARY JOB OF
EVERY CHURCH AND EACH INDIVUDUAL
BELIEVER IS TO EFFECT THE SPREADING OF
THE GOSPEL. Not all are to go overseas, but all
should make the job of reaching the lost their passion.
Our Lord’s PRIME DIRECTIVE is to REACH
THE LOST! All the other wonderful jobs we can do
are great. It was good that the children painted the
mailbox, cleaned the house and washed the windows.
How marvelous it was that they did not get into
mischief. It was tremendous that they kept curfew,
went to church and were faithful to pray and read the
word, but they did not mow the lawn!
The Lord of the harvest will soon return. Then, we
must give an account of the souls we have won. How
beautiful His words will be, when we hear them directed
to those of us who have obeyed His command to reach
the unreached. “You have been faithful over a few things,
I will make you ruler over many things: Enter into the joy
of thy Lord!”

THE INDIA HARVEST PLAN
The India Harvest Plan is responsible for
netting 13 million souls, since its inception in
1990, through mass-evangelism miracle cru-

sades. The plan has five arms, which operate
together to form a scripturally complete harvest
cycle. There is a “Mother Church” in
Chennai, India, which is the foundation of the
The Bible School
plan and is pastored by Rev. Sam Chelladurai,
Jr.. His fully-accredited Bible school trains
Indian students, who make up the pre-crusade
teams that advertise in hundreds of villages for
each mass-evangelism, miracle crusade. After
Village Evangelism Units
graduation, many students eventually become
pastors in the churches that are opened with the
new converts from each crusade. The new
believers in those churches are trained to reach

out to others, right from the start. As they do,
the cycle begins to repeat itself, with those
churches forming new churches that also reach
the lost in their area. Village evangelism van

crusade or cannot travel to the churches. v
“If you want to see the power of God truly work in your
ministry to effect lives, then you must realize it is the inherent power
of the simple Gospel that brings this to pass in our age.”
- Jerry O’Dell

THE SCHOOL FOR HARVESTERS
Located in Honduras, Central America, the School for Harvesters
escuela
brings students from all over the world, trains them, then sends
them back into all the world. Students have the unique
opportunity of being trained “on the field.” Honduras is a
perfect location for training potential harvesters because it has all
the elements necessary for exciting, successful village evangelism.
Students live in the comfort of the city of San Pedro Sula, while
the entire country serves as a giant classroom, where the students
learn to confidently preach and teach in a way that unleashes the
miracle-working power of God; and where they can experience
life on the mission field first-hand. Besides receiving a full two-
year Bible School curriculum, students take part in 6 teaching
crusades each year, providing them opportunity to win the lost
publicly on a platform, as well as one-on-one in the village
homes. In those villages, they learn to confidently produce
consistent salvations and healing miracles. v
“We need more missionaries who will preach the Gospel and win the lost. Most
missions efforts are the Body from one country ministering to the Body in another
country, while the unreached millions go untouched for the most part.”
- Franklin Graham

THE INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP OF HARVESTERS
The International Fellowship of Harvesters is an organization of
loosely knit ministries and believers whose prime directive is to
do all they can to see to it that the Gospel is preached to every
creature. The ministers who are directors and members of the
International Fellowship of Harvesters (IFH) are committed to
reaching as many of the unreached as possible with their indi-
vidual ministries. Yet, each one is very much aware that being
connected together – THROUGH PURPOSE – will allow
them to do more than they ever hoped they could do individu-
ally. It is the dream and vision of the IFH to join arms with
many more ministers and believers, in order to propagate the
Gospel in as many ways as possible: through evangelism, Bible
schools, the mentoring and sending of missionaries who are
trained reapers, the establishing of harvest plans, the planting
and building of churches, the printing of harvest-oriented
literature and curriculum and much more. v
We should not be interested in popularity - who gets what, or who goes where. The
questions should be: “Is the job getting done? Are we reaching the lost? Is there a
church in the next city? Is there somebody reaching this group of people?”
- Jerry O’Dell
