LIGHTWAVE ON-CAMERA MICROPHONE MOUNTS
AND WINDSHIELDS
Microphones mounted on cameras suffer interference from mechanical vibration from
the camera, as well as problems like wind noise which affect other microphones. This
range of microphone mounts and windscreens are designed specifically to combat
these problems.
MM-25 Minimount - Camcorder Carriage Microphone
Mount
A low profile and lightweight microphone mount that can be used with light to
medium-weight microphones of 19mm to 30mm diameters. Its modular design
consists of two parts: the cradle and the carriage. The top cradle section is made of
anodized aluminum and is attached to the lower cradle by four santoprene rubber
legs that absorb vibrations and noise. The screw-down arm holds the microphone
securely in place and enables a fast changeover. Carriage is suited for use with
camcorders that have 25mm diameter microphone clamps, allowing the use of
superior exterior microphones, as well as the onboard one.
Riser for MM-USC Minimount with Universal Shoe Carriage
Riser R1 raises the MM-USC Minimount cradle away from the camera by a further 25
mm, to keep it out of shot when using a MM-USC with a wide-angle lens camera. The
MM-USC is no longer available, but we do have some stock of the Riser 1 extension
arm.
Miniscreen
The Miniscreen is a high performance fabric/mesh slip on windshield, optimised for
dialogue, that has an innovative support-disc system to hold the microphone in place.
The Miniscreen provides real wind protection, and attenuates wind noise up to 20dB.
This sleek and unobtrusive product can be used inside and outside and surrounds the
microphone with an area of ‘dead air’ to ensure clean audio. The Miniscreen is a one-
size fits all in terms of diameter, but is available in eight different lengths. See table for
appropriate model.
MiniWindmaster
The addition of the MiniWindmaster to the Miniscreen, order separately, allows the
Miniscreen to be used when wind conditions or inclement weather are at their worst.
The MiniWindmaster is a zip-on furry cover with 25mm deep-pile artificial fur that fits
snuggly over the Miniscreen and greatly cuts down wind noise.
Equalizer
The Equalizer is a high-performance fabric/mesh slip-on windshield with an integral fur
cover. It uses the same innovative disc support system as the Miniscreen and
surrounds the microphone with an area of ‘dead air’. It will attenuate wind noise up to
30dB’s and can be used in severe rain and snow while keeping the microphone dry
and acoustically unaffected. The Equalizer fits microphones between the diameters of
19mm-27mm and is available in eight different lengths. See table for sizing.
SI-XL System Isolator-For Canon XL Series
A multi-purpose isolator coupler specific to the Canon XL series of camcorder. The SI-
XL is designed to provide shock and vibration isolation to the XL viewfinder and
microphone mount assembly system of the camera. It fits between the viewfinder and
the camera body. The view-finder assembly is moved 60mm forward, i.e. the camera
moves back 60mm, providing a balanced and relaxed shoulder support. Endorsed by
Canon USA.
