How to download KompoZer (Windows version)

Create a folder on the desktop. Move the cursor to an blank area on your desktop,
right-click, click “New” and click “Folder.”
Name the folder “KompoZer”

Go to the KompoZer download web page.

Click “Win32 binary kompozer-0.7.10-win32.zip”

A new page (SourceForge.Net) will open and the “File Download” dialogue box will
pop up. Click “Save.”

The “Save As” dialogue box pops up. Choose the “KompoZer” folder on the desktop
for the “Save in” area and click “OK.” Download will start. It will take a couple of
minutes.

The “Download Complete” dialogue box will pop up. Click “Open.”

An unzipping program will start. Click “Extract.” It will start unzipping the downloaded
file. If it asks you another question, just click “Yes” or “Extract” or “Next” and keep
going the unzipping process. (Your unzipping program might look different than the
illustration below, but it’s OK. It will do the same job.)
If your computer is not equipped with a unzipping program, The above unzipping
process will not start automatically. Please go to the web page below and download
“IZArc 3.81 build 1550” (it’s a free ware). Some dialogue boxes might appear in the
download and installation process. Click “Yes” and/or “Next” and proceed the
process.

After completing the download and unzip processes, open the “KompoZer” folder on
the desktop and double-click the “IZArc 3.81 build 1550” icon there. This will take you
to the process above (Step-6).

Once unzipping is completed, you should have “kompozer-0.7.10-win32” folder in the
“KompoZer” folder. Click and open the “kompozer-0.7.10-win32” folder. In that folder,
there should be “KompoZer 0.7.10” folder. Click and open that folder. (It’s like a
monkey peeling an onion.)

In that folder, look for the KompoZer icon. The icon can be either large or small, but
they are the same.

You will create a short cut icon for KompoZer and put it on the desktop so that you
can launch KompoZer with just one click.
Right-click on the KompoZer icon. The menu box will appear. Click “Create Shortcut.”
A shortcut icon for KompoZer will appear in the same folder. It might not be right next
to the original icon. Just look for it.

You will move the short cut icon to the desktop. Simply drag the shortcut icon out of
the folder onto the desktop.
Or, right-click on the KompoZer short cut. The menu box appears. Click “Cut.” Go to
the desktop, move the cursor to a blank area and right-click. The menu box appears.
Click “Paste.” You should have the KompoZer shortcut icon on the desktop.

Double-click the KompoZer shortcut icon on the desktop. KompoZer should launch
itself. In the course, we will use this shortcut icon to open KompoZer.

You can close KompoZer for now. Click “X” at the right-hand side top corner.
