The Library That’s Always Open

THROW AWAY YOUR “DO NOT REMOVE” STAMP
Founded in 1954 with the publication of the now-classic Encyclopedia of Associations, Gale® has unparalleled
experience in serving the world’s information and education needs. Now, Gale announces an evolution in delivery
format to make life easier for librarians and researchers. Gale Virtual Reference Library delivers reference works as
individual title databases that can be combined into customized collections for cross-title searching. The result is
fluid access to and use of reference content. Customizable, searchable, accessible and always available, this power-
ful combination of Gale references and eBook delivery equals the ideal circulating reference collection. Now, all
the reference materials that were once accessible only in the library are available anywhere, anytime.
MOVE REFERENCE INTO CIRCULATION
Gale Virtual Reference Library allows libraries to develop and customize collections at their own pace and within
their own budget to meet specific user needs. For example, you can customize a small collection for subject
areas that aren’t heavily used, while also ensuring that often-requested titles are available to multiple users.
Libraries can buy one eBook or multiple eBooks and provide search options within a
single eBook or an entire collection. With no need for special hardware or an online
reader, and the promise of shelf-space savings and print resource backup, this new
reference option also offers:
• 24/7 remote access
• Unlimited usage; no checkout or turn away;
• Continuously growing selection of titles
multi-volume sets always available
• Boolean searching across entire eBook col-
• MARC records can be loaded into OPAC
lection; expanded searching for hard-to-find
allowing users to click on an embedded
material

• E-mailing and printing of articles
• Standard usage reports
