Unlike mass-market analytics suites that keep your data locked in closed silos,
WebTrends Analytics supports open, standards-based exchange of data among
applications and systems. New features added to WebTrends Analytics 8.6 pro-
vide easy access to data-exchange tools, along with a new method for analyzing
and exporting large sets of web data. The features will be available beginning in
November 2008 to On Demand software-as-a-service customers.
Features At-A-Glance
WEBTRENDS CONNECT: Direct Access to Multiple Methods of Data Exchange
WebTrends Connect™ is a new interface component that provides centralized access
to industry-standard methods of exchanging data between enterprise systems.
These methods include:
• ODBC. Query analytics data using a standard API method.
• Lookup Tables. Augment WebTrends data with information not provided by your
web server, such as cost data or translation tables for replacing codes or SKUs with
names. Also, supplement your online data with customer data from your CRM or
customer database.
• Web Services/API. Developers can programmatically access WebTrends Analytics
and WebTrends Marketing Warehouse through a robust set of SOAP-based APIs.
• Analytics Report Exporter. Distribute data into popular formats, such as Microsoft
Word, Adobe PDF and Microsoft Excel/CSV, on the fly, or schedule regular exports to
email, FTP or a file location.
• SmartReports for Microsoft Excel. Automatically integrate WebTrends data into
Excel spreadsheets.
WebTrends Connect provides a dedicated section within the WebTrends Analytics interface to access different methods of
data exchange. A new button in the lower left corner of the WebTrends toolbar provides direct access.

ANALYTICS DATA CAPTURE: Easily Access More Website Data
Analytics Data Capture provides direct access to the WebTrends Analytics data-
base. This data management and analysis tool lets you export large data sets
with millions of rows of data to a secure FTP site. Analytics Data Capture is a
component of the Data Scheduler, available in WebTrends Connect.
• Schedule, define data. Select a profile and report for the data you want and
how frequently you want the data extracted (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).
• Connect to offline data. Integrate extracted data with offline data stores and
perform analysis with business intelligence and other tools.
• Work with familiar tools. Review extracted data with Microsoft Access, Excel or
other programs.
• Maintain security. Data on the secure FTP site is password protected.
Conveniently pick and schedule reports for delivery to a secure FTP location hosted by WebTrends.
