CISM REVISION WORKSHOP
6th – 8th May 2009
For candidates sitting the CISM examination in June 2009, the London Chapter is
pleased to offer our popular CISM Revision Workshop. This non-residential 3-day
course on Wednesday to Friday 6 – 8 May 2009 is at the premises of Quorum
Training (5th Floor, Tavistock House, Tavistock Square, London, WC1H 9TW –
nearest tube stations are Euston and Russell Square).
The workshop leader will be Roger Southgate, past President of the London
Chapter. Roger is a very experienced trainer and has delivered training courses in
the UK and overseas.
A maximum of 6 delegates can be accommodated.
The CISM Revision Workshop
This intensive workshop provides an excellent opportunity to clarify the thought
processes when working under pressure. The format is primarily a review of the task
and knowledge requirements for each CISM domain, as contained in the CISM
Review Manual, followed by a scaled down ‘mock’ examination with a discussion on
the ‘correct’ answer to each question. Some time is also allocated for examining the
structure of a CISM question and discussing a generic approach to help identify the
appropriate answer. This not only hones the delegates’ examination technique, but
also provides for lively discussion.
It is emphasised that this is a revision course i.e. an opportunity to go over
work already done prior to taking the exam; it is not a course of study.
Delegates are expected to have previously studied and absorbed the subject
matter covered in the CISM Review Manual. Delegates will be asked in advance
to identify any specific areas of the CISM Review Manual that they would like
to focus on during the workshop
The actual CISM examination is scheduled for Saturday 13 June 2009 so delegates
will have over a month to address any weaknesses identified during the workshop.
